Just before Christmas I was asked if I had time to do a family shoot with their newest (fur covered) addition. The benefit to Summer’s late sunsets was that, on the date they needed, I was able to finish up at the event I was covering & would still have natural light available for them!
I adore shoots like this, especially when clients return to update their photos every couple of years. Looking back through multiple shoots to see their changes & growth (especially the kids) is a wonderful thing. I often get the same when looking back through the two annual festivals I cover – Kalamunda’s Zig Zag Festival & the Balingup Medieval Carnivale – as some folks come to find me to take their annual “We’re here!” photo. There’s just something very special about it.
Not going to lie, wrangling a 5 year old boy & a 15 month old labrador (who’s only been in the family for 3 weeks) while trying to get *everyone* to look in the same direction is a fun & interesting challenge! A highly worthwhile & enjoyable experience!
These are a great bunch of people, & it was an honour to be able to capture these memories of their family for them.
